December 2021

ALL ABOUT ME...

Here we are, at the end of another strange year. Part of me can't quite believe 2021 is nearly over, but the other part is looking forward to going into a new year.

After a stressful few weeks, I am looking forward to spending Christmas with my family. We have some festive activities planned including a ride on the Santa Christmas steam train. It's really lovely as we take the children and my grandparents. It's such a traditional, festive experience and really gets us all in the mood for the big day. Last year, due to Covid-restrictions, I couldn't go on the train so I am extra excited this year.

What I have been up to lately:

I have been busy working but recently took some time out to take my daughter to see the Nutcracker ballet at the theatre which we both loved. My daughter is 8 years old and attends a local dance school five times a week, so this was something I knew we could enjoy together. We also recently watched her compete at a dance competition against other schools from across the country. It was lovely to watch how much she has developed over the last year. Dancing really is her passion, and although I wish I could say she takes after me, the truth is, I'm not sure where she gets it from.

ALL ABOUT THE BOOKS...

Year in review:

Since the year is drawing to a close, I thought I would do my 'year in review'. I had so many plans for this year, it's very easy to look at all the things I didn't achieve when really, against a back drop of COVID and moving house, I am trying to focus on all the things I did achieve... and looking at this graphic, I don't think I did too badly. Eight releases (five novels and three novellas) and numerous foreign editions published.

Highlighs of 2021:

  • Launching Rixon High and giving fans of the Rixon world a whole new bunch of characters to fall in love with

  • Hitting the USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists with the Hot Summer School Nights Anthology.

  • Signing a publishing deal with a Hebrew publisher to bring the Rixon Raiders to Israel.

  • Licensing numerous books to the KISS App and Chapters App.

  • Releasing 16 foreign editions of my books across five languages.

  • Hitting #1 in the entire Amazon.FR store with Chase.

Release news:

My next release will be Riot. This was due to be released in late December however it will be slightly delayed. The official date is still to be confirmed. (I promise, I'm working on it!) This is the fifth book in the Black Hearts Still Beat series, and will be Molly and Hudson's story. The pre-order is up on Amazon but not yet available on other retailers.

If you read the Hallowed Nights anthology, you will have met Nix and Birdie from my short story. Well, I have now released These Dark Hearts: a Darling Hill prequel, and it is available FREE on eBook. You can also download the audio version for free here.

Nix and Birdie's story continues in A Darling Hill Duet, coming early 2022. The first book, These Dirty Lies, is available to pre-order.

Audio News

I'm excited to announce that Blurred Lines and Tragic Lies will be live soon! I recently approved both audios, so I am hopeful that they will go live early in the New Year. Savior of Regrets is still is in early production.

If you want to check out what audiobooks I currently have available, you can find a list here.

Foreign Editions:

The Harder You Fall has recently been released in German, which I am super excited about, and the Endgame is You has been released recently in Spanish. I have a ton more foreign editions coming next year. So watch this space!

If you want to check out what's available in which language, all of my foreign editions can be found here.

Other News:

As mentioned in previous blogs, I am hoping to be attending some signings across the world in 2022.

I was recently announced as the guest at Festival Romance Italy, which is being held in Milan in March. I will also be attending RARE Paris in April, followed by Tattooed Bad Boys in York, England, and then Wild and Windy in the City, Chicago in May. It is really difficult to foresee how travel in 2022 will be however I am remaining hopeful that the events can go ahead and that I'll be able to find my way there!

ALL ABOUT WHAT I'M ENJOYING...

It is such a busy time of year at the moment. We have been seeing our friends and family quite a lot so there hasn't been a great deal of downtinme, but I have managed to steal a few hours here and there to read and watch a bit of TV.

What I've been reading:

I recently re-read an old favourite: Sarah J Maas' A Court of Thorn and Roses series. I adore the world building and character's relationships, and no matter how many times I re-read it, it never grows old.

What I've been watching:

I had a couple of days feeling under the weather, so I did a re-watch of The Witcher season 1 in preparation for season 2. I'm a huge fantasy fan, so this show ticks a lot of boxes for me. Plus Henry Cavil playing Geralt of Rivia is well worth a watch 😉 I also recently watched Unforgivable on NETFLIX, starring Sandra Bullock. Such a riveting and heartwrenching story. I really enjoyed this one!

Before I sign off, I just wanted to say a big thank you for all of your support this year.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy Holidays and a very happy New Year.

I'll see you in 2022,
